Advocates for a reckless driver accused of using his vehicle as a weapon have shut down a Web site with a cruiser-cam video of his shooting involving Portland (Maine) Police officers.

The web site Portlandpolicebrutality.com has been taken down, reports the Portland Press Herald. The site had included a video of the April shooting of Jonathan Mitchell, who was struck by two rounds from officers Robert Miller and David Schertz.

J.P. DeGrinney, Mitchell's attorney, said the purpose of the site was to show that his client "was not using his vehicle as a dangerous weapon and was not threatening officers."
