TX Constable Shot Multiple Times During Vehicle Pursuit

A Hill County Constable, Constable Kevin Cordell, was shot multiple times during the gunfight. He was flown to a nearby hospital.

A Hill County, TX, constable was shot multiple times during a vehicle pursuit involving two murder suspects Thursday evening.

The incident began when officers with the Dallas Police Department were tracking the suspects along I-35 W near Alvarado. The suspect then drove back toward Dallas and into Hill County.

Law enforcement was able to disable the vehicle. That's when gunfire was exchanged, KXXV reports.

A Hill County Constable, Constable Kevin Cordell, was shot multiple times during the gunfight. He was flown to a nearby hospital.

He wrote on Facebook today that he expected to be released soon.

One suspect 19-year-old Adrian Murillo died from injuries he received in the battle with law enforcement officers at the end of the chase. The other suspect was also injured and still in the hospital, Fox 44 reports.
