Vice President Joe Biden will present proposals for new gun-control regulations to President Obama by Tuesday, he told reporters Thursday.

Biden, the author of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, has been meeting with victims' rights groups, gun-control advocates, and law enforcement officials as part of a task force set up in response to the Sandy Hook school shooting.

The vice president said a consensus has emerged on several measures including universal background checks, restrictions on high-capacity magazines, and increased federal capabilities for effectively researching gun violence, reports CBS News.

A consensus has not yet been reached about renewing the federal assault weapons ban.

A universal background check would likely apply to gun show and private party purchases of firearms, reports the Washington Post.

On Wednesday, Biden indicated that Obama would take unilateral, executive action on gun control and make changes to laws without congressional approval, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Later today, Biden will meet with the National Rifle Association and entertainment groups. Attorney General Eric Holder is meeting with major firearm retailers including Wal-Mart.

Rodney Bender @ 1/10/2013 2:31 PM

But who is he interviewing about the rights of law abiding citizens since its obvious that Obama doesn't care about the Constitution or about law abiding citizens?

AusFost1 @ 1/10/2013 2:50 PM

I don't live in the US and don't wish to be disrespectful, but I still think there's more to the problem - I mean, Israel, South Africa, Scandinavian countries, the Middle East - so many countries without gun control and they don't have mass shootings. Mass bombings and political, racial or religious things, yes, in some cases, but not these types of rogue shooter scenarios. I will watch with interest to see how these law changes develop.

Steve in LA @ 1/10/2013 2:52 PM

The Three Stooges, Barry, Joe, and Eric, (apparently Feinstein, Boxer, and Bloomberg couldn’t get the party) have decisively focused their wrath against law-abiding Americans. Apparently civil rights don’t mean much to these idiots and their minions. Perhaps they should read the U.S. Supreme Court decisions regarding Heller v. District of Columbia, and McDonald v. Chicago.

Our Country is rapidly dying!

Robin in Texas @ 1/10/2013 3:01 PM

So it's okay for the Attorney General to sell guns to the drug cartels, but Americans aren't suppose to have them. Also, if any of these people thing that bringing in new gun laws will keep guns off the streets or out of criminals hands, perhaps they should review our current drug laws and how well they are working out. It doesn' bother me for them to do a background check on me if I want to purchase a gun, but don't sit there and spit out garbage about how your new ideas are going to keep criminals from getting guns. The Attorney General isn't out of office yet, he might make another sale!

James Christman @ 1/10/2013 3:05 PM

It is very clear what must be done. Obama MUST be IMPEACHED !

Fed Cop @ 1/10/2013 3:10 PM

Hey, AusFost1, Isreal doesn't have gun control???? Everyone in Isreal has a gun. Ever hear of the continuing conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians? The Middle East, they're born with a gun in their hand. Ever hear of Anders Behring Breivik of Norway? He killed 92, that's NINETY-TWO, in Norway, a part of Scandinavia. Wake up.

Chuck @ 1/10/2013 3:18 PM

Did you happen to notice who it is exactly that is really pushing for all this gun control stuff, the politicians (monarchs) and the military or retired military folks. instead of looking at what the real problem, the first thing they choose to do is resrtict, confiscate, ban and limit the average law abiding citizen (the serfs) (except for the politicians and military of course). disarm or restrict the masses so only the ruling class has the means and firepower. How about they let us enforce the laws already on the books, let the punishment fit the crime instead of making the victims pay for the crimes of the bad guys. Just like the Three Strikes law, someone determined it was too harsh on the criminal, making the criminal pay for their crime was mean and cruel so the took all the teeth out of the law. the only wat to make something stop is to make it where it actually hurts the bad guys.

yardcop @ 1/10/2013 3:20 PM

I agree with Robin, these yahoos are making decisions that only effect legal gun owner not the gang bangers, drug dealers and crooks. Quite frankly a better background check that includes better mental health checks is what's needed to help prevent the "legal" crazy from owning guns.

AC @ 1/10/2013 3:36 PM

I totally agree with Robin and yardcop. But how dare them to control my 2cnd amendment or tell me what kind of weapon I can own. I've been properly trained to use every gun I have.

Tom Ret @ 1/10/2013 4:00 PM

You gotta love the left and their hypocrisy on gun rights. Whether it is sending their children to schools that have armed guards while protesting the idea of armed guards in schools, or sending arms into Mexico, thus arming the drug cartels, while telling the american gun owner you don't need that type of gun, or their publishing of names and addresses of gun permit owners putting them at risk while hiring armed guards of their own after receiving threats. Then there is our president who says he supports the constitution but apparently has no problem going around it by circumventing the legislative branch with executive fiat. Recently, President Clinton said in a speech that you don't need a 20 round magazine to hunt or words to that effect. The constitution is clear that
the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. The reason for the guarantee has more to do with protecting the people against tyrannical governments who use executive fiats and less to do with hunting with a
20 shot magazine.

Trestles @ 1/10/2013 4:14 PM

What needs controlling/monitoring are the nutters that feel the need to express themselves by taking the lives of innocent victims. The manual says 'Don't aim at anything that you do not want to shoot'.

Matt @ 1/10/2013 4:21 PM

So an executive is going to be used to limit our 2nd amendment right, then that sets the precedent to use another to limit our 1st amendment right, right?

njmotorcop @ 1/10/2013 4:43 PM

No surprises here, just more malfeaseance and misconduct from the most corrupt regime in America's history!

C Kem @ 1/10/2013 4:51 PM

I would very much like to know what members of the law enforcement community they are including in these meetings. I can only assume they are administrators from places like New York and Chicago and not anywhere else in the country. We need to find a way to make our voice collectively heard. Truth is, they aren't looking for ideas to address the prevention of mass killings, they are exploiting a tragedy to push their gun control agenda forward.

Robert C. Fain @ 1/10/2013 5:00 PM

My fellow officers, all I'll say on this is remember your oath to the Constitution...God bless you all. WWW.OATHKEEPERS.ORG

DriverX @ 1/10/2013 5:39 PM

This entire gun control issues has nothing to do with firearms, it is people control. Do we need some realistic firearms regulations, but banning and extremism won't work.

The problem started when Clinton signed the Health Information Act (Yes I believe this was all planned and set up) "HIPAA" prevents the distribution of health records which would have flagged most of the "problem individuals" of recent events. But, HIPAA doesnt prevent notification to the DMV or DOT if you have a seizure or health issue that could cause issues driving. This was planned a long time ago, even the "powers in control" have had their gun controls already written and ready. Any "meetings of the Minds" is just for show.

DriverX @ 1/10/2013 5:39 PM

The Political Liberal Elite fear the little people, they want working drones without thought or argument. Consider the raise of the corporate drug manufacturers and the raise mental health issues among the little people. Have you noticed how these "shooters" all seem to have mental health issues?

Realistic gun control improvements: 1) Release mental health records into the insta-check system. 2) basic firearms safety and use certifications. 3) Mandatory Insta-check approval requirements on all firearm transfers; Dealer to buyer & private seller to private buyer. Dealers shall provide private parties access to insta-check and provide both parties with documentation of approval of transfer. That simple.

BUT, here is what is going to happen... Some form of ban will be put into place. 3 to 5% of gun owners will resist and put up a fight. They will be made example of and be raided and arrested. ANother 20 to 30% will silently resist. They will be flagged in a data system and when stopped for a minor infraction (like a parking ticket, or vehicle stop) they will arrested for not surrendering their firearms. They will than "GO THROUGH THE SYSTEM" their property, vehicles, homes, financial saving and any and all funds they have will be seized and forfeite

Disgusted @ 1/10/2013 5:43 PM

How disgusting! Obama won't let a little thing like the constitution get in the way. Didn't he swear an oath at sometime?

DriverX @ 1/10/2013 5:46 PM

forfeited just like criminal drug dealers. The Law Abiding Citizens will cave in, the loss of property, livelihood and family will be to great. And the fight against the evil gun will win. The Law Enforcement Community and Military will go along, because the 3 to 5's will be labeled terrorists, armed criminals, or mentally unfit... The next 20 to 30%ers will just be the average folks... A warrant listed for arrest with no cause outlined. They will be brought in with little resistance and than put in the system.

DriverX @ 1/10/2013 6:06 PM

Once in the system their lives are over regardless if they actually serve a jail sentence. Jail time is not the issue, they won't spend more than a year anywhere... That is not the purpose, it is the confiscation of the property and the public example against resistance. The Liberal Media-lackies will enjoy the headline profits, and Hollywood will enjoy the movie rights. This has all been planned, orchestrated, and staged. Sadly lives were lost to bring about their agenda.

DriverX @ 1/10/2013 6:09 PM

Sadly, this is what shall happen. There is just to much personal risk, our lives, our careers, our property... We are all to scared, there is simply no one of you / us willing to stand up and fight back against this. No one has the courage of our founding fathers. Our forefathers will be ashamed

William322 @ 1/10/2013 6:55 PM

The Government may take my fire arms, knives, clubs, etc. when they are able to take them from my cold dead fingers.

John Russell @ 1/10/2013 7:38 PM

Whether you are COP or NOT whether a Detective or even GUN LOVING SWAT guy right now or STATE POLICE with 2 .40 cals on each side of your hip right now and COLT M4 full auto in the trunk on a bracket on the trunk lid...doesn't matter have it all ready right? and the ones who never saw these CREEPS taking the rights away too late and believe me that is what they truly are in WASH make a GD STAND here and now like you never have in your MAKE A REAL STAND with all FIREARM CITIZENS OF THE USA NOW!! Like so many states are preparing to do and ""YOU NULLIFY "any new law passed or presented by this SYNDICATE in Washington DC OBAMA /BIDEN/BLOOMBERG/FEINSTEIN/CUOMO all of them..They are usurping the CONSTITUTION OF THE USA..and you know this?

John Russell @ 1/10/2013 7:46 PM

Again these fools in Washington believe that either through the USE of FEDERAL UNITS ie DHS or you Police that persons will coward and even accept REGISTRATION or all out ban had better be prepared for a MAJOR confrontation. I truly believe probably 2 of the strongest held beliefs in AMERICAN CULTURE are FREEDOM OF SPEECH and THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS! Once it was religion but has somehow be very tarnished world wide? I see why the 2nd one is so critical today as the first one has absolutely no power in this country with politicians in 2013!

former jarhead @ 1/10/2013 8:11 PM

if you give up your guns, they may still shoot you or carry your to a fema camp for your not going to be considered the compatible type for their NWO once the guns are gathered, so your going to be dead anyway, so might as well be one of the home of the brave and take some of the devils with you on the way out, once this gun grab is accomplished, they will want to bio chip you with the mark of the beast and then be a slave in a work camp, things will never go back to the way they are now, and who wants to live as a slave in what will be a hell hole after this goes down

Judi @ 1/10/2013 8:25 PM

As in the past, any time THEY convert all of our attention to one thing, i.e. Gun Control, they are always trying to divert us from something else...

PHIL VENTURINI @ 1/10/2013 9:02 PM

Our politicians should look at the results of a ban on handguns 12 months ago in Australia. ALL CRIMES ARE UP. Look it up its on the internet.

exdc911 @ 1/10/2013 9:38 PM

Neither Mr. Obama nor Mr. Biden has mentioned anything about citizens protecting themselves from the urban thugs who do and will continue to have so-called assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

Stomper @ 1/10/2013 9:45 PM

Enough of this Communism! The second amendment is non-negotiable. Any argument against the second amendment is an argument for Communism period. We need to stand and stamp out these anti-American dissenters with truth. There is no logic to their entire argument. Enough is enough.

dan @ 1/10/2013 10:00 PM

traitors to the constitution will be dealt with ...harshly....they have erred in judgement and are arrogant to their demise

John @ 1/10/2013 10:46 PM

A year ago, Sen. Feinstein started doing research for a new "assault weapons" ban. Yes, before the shootings in Aurora and at Sandy Hook. According to the I.L.A., she doesn't just want to ban AR-15 rifles. She also wants to ban M-1 carbines, a model of the Ruger Mini 14 and some or all SKS rifles. Additionally, she wants inheritors of AR-15 rifles to go through a N.F.A. application process. This involves paying a $200 federal tax and filling out the same paperwork as if purchasing a pre 1986 machine gun.

A small minority of people support closing the "gun show loophole", but Biden wants universal background checks. This could require background checks of family members who receive firearms as gifts or through inheritance.

An "assault weapons" ban would also apply to handgun magazines with a capacity of over 10 rounds. This includes most 9mm and 40 caliber handguns. The anti gunners will not stop there. Next they will target all handguns and then repeating rifles (slide/pump, lever and bolt action). All you have to do is look at England where an individual cannot even own a .22 target pistol. Also, an extensive background check/application process is even required to own a double barrel shotgun. The long barrel (26+") unloaded shotgun has to be kept in a safe. The English government would rather protect the lives of home invaders, rapists and murders than allow an innocent person the tools to protect themselves.

Charles @ 1/11/2013 5:11 AM

Well said, Mr. Fain. Our Nation under God is in real trouble.

MN Deputy @ 1/11/2013 5:24 AM

Mr. Biden, it's not hard to get a concensus when you surround yourself with a group of folks that have the same misguided philosophy as yours and the president. How about inviting some of the "common" folks to participate in the discussion? let us inject some common sense and logic into the duscussion?

Emmit Tate @ 1/11/2013 5:24 AM

I agree with Robert C Fain that all Police and Military need to remember their oath of office. "To protect and defend the consitution against all enemies foreign and domestic." To go to someones home, business, auto, etc, etc. to sieze their guns would be a violation of everyones oath of office. No executive order can over turn the consitution or change it.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." What word is it that they ( the polititions) don't understand??????? They don't understand a simple sentence like this and we trust them to write laws?????? who's really the stupid ones? Them or the ones that elected them?

patrick @ 1/11/2013 5:33 AM

This is a Communist takeover that has slowly been imposed. The whitehouse is full of communists. Either we make a stand or become a complete godless country of SUBJECTS. just look how hitler was the "savior" and what he did after he got the guns WAKE UP!!!!

MN Deputy @ 1/11/2013 5:35 AM

None of the proposed new laws would have prevented either recent mass shooting! Simply put, there are evil people out there, there are people who have no respect for life. Therefore, "Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy".

uslawman1983 @ 1/11/2013 5:52 AM

I will not surrender my guns or my rights to any enemies, foreign or domestic. And I will not illegally collect guns from law-abiding citizens. Its that simple.

scott, retired @ 1/11/2013 6:08 AM

We don't need more BS restrictions on law abiding citizens or more gun control. We need to enforce the laws we have and we need more criminal and gov't control. We need less liberal bleeding heart judges that will give murders, rapist and child molestors the death penalty and make sure it's carried out. Screw the years of appeals. This might curtail some of these morons from doing it. Gun control worked great in Russia, China, and especially Nazi Germany. We don't need that here. This is America we fought for that right.

Yoda @ 1/11/2013 6:53 AM

Timely and informative - thank you.
Should the Obamanation and fast and furious Holder prevail they will ban oyster forks as assault weapons

"Government Grabbing Your Guns/"

DanB @ 1/11/2013 8:23 AM

The guns don't kill people. People do! Until they find a way to keep guns out of the hands of nut cases, we will continue to waste time, energy and money on this debate and measures that do not address the true problem. Maybe the U.S. has more nutcases, or maybe we don't deal with our nut cases appropriately. That is why we have more incidents.

Our "sit-in-the-corner-for-time-out " justice system needs to effectively deal with criminals to have any hope of controlling crime.

Louis N @ 1/11/2013 8:47 AM

We are a FREE people we don't need more laws! Inforese the ones we have. Gun don't kill people do. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with gun! Look at all the good guys the protec you with guns! Why do you want to limit my rights! For the people by the people not the government!

Ja Tu @ 1/11/2013 10:19 AM

The Fast and the Furious gun running fiasco was an attempt to fool the American sheeple into believing huge amounts of US guns were being smuggled into Mexico by criminals. a few months before that the Mexican president came to the US and pleaded to congress to stop the illegal gun trade, it was all for show to give Obama the public outrage and support he needed to push thorough his gun banning measures....but in the case of Fast & Furious, he got caught and that ended his gun banning asperations....untill Newtown.

Ja Tu @ 1/11/2013 10:26 AM

The feds wont come door to door to take your guns...that would be stupid and create an uprising, the govt dosent want an uprising. they will pass laws a little at a time over many years. Small little inconsequential laws that one at a time mean very little but over 20 or 50 years eventually leads to everything being banned but single shot black powder rifles.

Dan @ 1/11/2013 12:20 PM

You are all idiots. These posts read like the the transcript of a Jerry Springer Show. Can we say deranged and paranoid just a bit. If they do regulate firearms for the mentally ill, you better hide your guns because the first person they'll start with is you.

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:08 PM

@ Dan... Paranoid!?!?! Oh, so what you are telling us is that we are fools because it will never happen? We are making everything up? The Constitution was just a guideline which has now become outdated? The Oath sworn by many here was just for the sake of formality? We are idiots for seeing the truth?

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:12 PM

Dan, so the banning of firearms, there confiscation and the disarming of the people had nothing to do with the NAZI takeover in Germany, or the Communist takeovers in Russia, China, North Korea, Cambodia, and Numbers of Countries in Africa, Asia, and even Cuba???

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:17 PM

Dan, So you are so telling US that violent crimes have not risen in countries like the United Kingdom (England) and Australia since those countries? And that since the populations of those countries don't own firearms, the death rates due to criminal actions have dropped?

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:21 PM

Dan, Maybe you can explain to all our "mentally ill idiots" why murder rates with knives, blunt objects, or other means are higher than those committed with firearms? Especially in countries where firearms are banned?

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:24 PM

Dan, and another question from the mentally ill idiots... Do you believe the government will actually protect and provide for us all? Do you think surrendering the Constitution and the rights of the people will make you safe? I am sure you are more enlightened than any of US paranoid Mentally Ill Idiots... So please tell US why we are wrong.

btruth @ 1/11/2013 4:25 PM

The executive, legislative & judicial branches are merely for show. The current government & leadership is compromised to say the least. The "government" admitted that they create false flags i.e. OPERATION NORTHWOODS! i.e. FAST & FURIOUS... So prepare for the coming Revolution/civil war!

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:33 PM

Dan, Can you please explain... If firearms are banned and people are protected by "Gun Free Zone" signs... How will they be protected from DUI? DUI Kills on average 9 times more people than those killed with a firearms. And... When guns are banned and Gun Free Zones are everywhere what will stop someone from driving a big car / SUV / truck through a school yard while children play during recess? What would prevent someone from making a IED, fertilizer bomb, or using gasoline? How many chemicals can be easily mixed which can kill? Please Dan-O explain all this???

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:38 PM

I pose this at you all... Once guns are banned what will be next? They will focus on complete control of the freedom of speech and the internet. Just look at the topics in headlines these days. Even the gun control experts meeting with Hollywood and game designers. That is the next target. After than, the auto industry. The push for green vehicles. Soon an public event vilifying a large old car / SUV / truck will occur (like a mass killing incident) and the next thing will shall be forced to buy smart cars because anything over 2000 pounds will be banned

DriverX @ 1/11/2013 4:44 PM

Along with the large vehicles will be it's dangerous fuel... Gasoline! used to make deadly molotov cocktails... So we will have to buy electric vehicles... Oh and just wait for the Nuclear Power Plant accident or terrorist incident... Which will shut down Nuclear and Coal power in this country in favor of 'green Energy sources. This is all being planned out. Open your eyes and look at everything that is going on. Look at the blind fools who follow along without questions. Follow the Money, Look at the Agenda, it is happening

Robert Bingham @ 1/11/2013 7:31 PM

Are they also going to look at the psychological aspects of the people who commit these crimes? People kill people, not guns, knives, cars, hammers, etc. More people are killed by drunck drivers than firearms. Does this mean they also plan on making alcohol illegal? Probably not, they like their booze far too much. It seems like most of the individuals who have committed these types of crimes have given off warning signs to those in contact with them. People who are in a position to do or say something to authorities need to start acting on those warning signs and stop being afraid of stepping forward.

Ima Leprechaun @ 1/12/2013 8:26 AM

It is quite obvious to me that very few bloggers here have ever actually read the US Constitution or the Bill of Rights. First learn to read, second learn to use your own brain rather than depending upon someone else giving you their interpretation of the Constitution. Its very easy to read the US Constitution it is written in English and its composed of short easy to read paragraphs. The Second amendment is thus a direct quote "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." To me this is a very clear statement that the forefathers wanted an armmed militia in every state like we have that now and its called the national guard. The word "people" is the plural of the word "person" meaning more than one person as in a "well regulated militia" and the third easy to understand word is regulated. There is not one mention of an individuals right to bear arms. So the second amendment covers the national guard and not individual ownership and it states it should be well regulated meaning laws and rules. The bloggers on here are only using their head to hold their hats on and nothing more.

Ima Leprechaun @ 1/12/2013 9:00 AM

The easiest solution is to control the ammunition made which is not even mentioned in the Constitution because ammunition back in the 1700's was made at home and could not be store bought. All ammunition should be regulated and controlled by the US Government. Only Police and the military have need of special ammunition such as high veloscity rounds or military grade ammunition. Hunters for food or sport could purchase ammunition for hunting at a cheaper rate from government warehouses which would require a background check using finger prints (via AFIS) and photographs placed into NCIC. The purchaser would be personally liable for any misuse of the ammunition leaving the liablility to the purchaser and protecting the manufacturer. If your purpose is legal there would never be an issue because everyone even the NRA taunts gun safety. Personal protection ammunition could be purchased in this manner too since all legal gun owners have nothing to hide. Regulate the bullets not the guns this is a win-win for everybody. There is no reason to discontinue any concealed carry gun laws I do believe in personal protection just that the ammunition be relgulated and sold the same way as hunters ammuntion and the liablilty rests solely with the owner of the firearm even if the ammo is stolen since even the NRA insists that all weapons and ammunition be properly stored in a secure manner. The liablity should remain with the purchaser just the same as the owner of a car is responsible for their car. Liability Insurance would be required to carry any gun by members of the public. This policy interferes with no individual rights of anyone with legal intentions.

Dan @ 1/12/2013 9:02 AM

Either you are unemployed with nothing to do or smoke meth and sit up all night writing rant after nonsensical rant. One thing is for sure, you don't live in the real world.

DriverX @ 1/12/2013 2:26 PM

Dan... I am employed, I have taken the oath to protect and serve, and I attended college as a police science / constitutional law major. So I suggest you just continue to enjoy your welfare checks, obama phone, and the free ride you are getting from my taxes and keep up the blind worship of the political powers that be. What is truly sad about you is your blind following of the path you are given rather than opening your eyes and mind to see the truth before you. It is obvious that you have no clue for you fail to offer a "view or opinion" and would rather insult and name call. You're a Pro!

DriverX @ 1/12/2013 2:40 PM

Ima Leprechaun; Please read and educate yourself... Gunpowder was a manufactured item, as was shot. Often individuals purchased their black powder and would "cast" there won bullets. The powder was not easily produced by the common man requiring an understanding of chemistry and equipment necessary to mix it safely.

DriverX @ 1/12/2013 2:57 PM

Ima Leprechaun; Regarding the 2nd Amendment... A well regulated militia refers NOT to the national guard, but rather the private citizen, who being armed shall organize and become a militia. Consider the terms used, and our military breakdown today. Originally we had the "Continental Army & Navy" and the Organized Militia Commonly referred to as the "Minute Man". The Minute men were the citizens who when called upon to act would muster to defend our nation. The Term "People" means the citizens. Refer to the US Constitution "We the People of the United States"

@DriverX. I guess you took the blue pill. Thanks for your resume. I'm an astronaut lawyer. I'm not saying your a dumb lunatic. I said deranged and paranoid. I stand by that.

Dan @ 1/12/2013 4:32 PM

@DriverX. You wanted my point of view? Your arguing to keep a pop gun vs a cap gun. If your wet dream comes true and the government comes to take your guns away, what the hell do you think you're going to do about it? Your decked out AR15 with your zombie eotech and bugout bag isn't going to stop them. It's ok to try some serious gun regulation. Calm down. Instead of writing four pages of diaerra here, write a letter to your congressmen. I'm sure you hate him.

DriverX @ 1/13/2013 12:08 AM

Dan, thank you for expressing yourself without name calling, even with the sarcasm. If you take a moment and re-read what I wrote, I outlined an example of how a ban/confiscation program may go down. We currently have infinite detention authorized by the POTUS, and fast track warrant policies, also consider the huge numbers of "FEMA" camps. These camps are surrounded by double barbed wire fences with the design to keep people contained rather than out. It is becoming a scary possibility which should be considered. I also posted a reasonable firearms control / ownership solution, which would protect our Constitutional rights and public safety. I also have contacted our representatives with these concerns. Have you?

DriverX @ 1/13/2013 12:08 AM

Ima Leprechaun @ 1/13/2013 7:09 AM

Again some people cannot read. In the case of DirectX whom I suspect is a 13 year old child, back in the 1700's gun powder was made at home from saltpeter, sulfur and colophony (colophony is pine tree resin). There were no stores in which anyone could purchase gunpowder. The gunpowder and some of the guns themselves were home made. I will not provide the proper ratio's since DirectX would blow himself up trying to make it. But first you need to learn how to read this is area you are severely lacking. There is so much hate here I can see there is a klan mentality running this blog. Take a pill and relax or if your in a state with legalized pot please smoke something you are wrapped way too tight.

@DriverX. Listen. I don't have time to to re-read your novel. Does it come as an audio book? Perhaps narrated by Nick Nolte or Mel Gibson. I stopped reading after you felt it necessary to assure us you believe it was all "planned out." Oh I have no doubt you have written letter upon letter to your congressmen. I'm sure you've even produced beautiful crayon drawings of what the future will look like. Maybe sent your favorite one a foil hat you made youself (you believe it actually blocks out the mind control rays). That's what crazy people do.

WOW, between Dan and the Leper, I can just feel the condescending love of the liberal cool aide at work. When you can't "actually" defend your points you belittle and attack the debate opponent rather than address facts. It's nice to see you both have read the instruction manual. Regarding history and arms manufacture and black powder production... In a very simply way, yes it was home made... But you have to understand that there were not many "major manufacturers" back in those days. Those products were constructed by craftsman. A millwrights would blend the powder (sulfur, charcoal, potassium nitrate) and than offer the mixture for sale or barter. Similar craftsman would produce firearms, which when provided would come with the tools necessary to make the shot (bullets). It would be nice if you intellectuals actually learned real history. Have another solo cup of coolaide and cool off

I propose PEOPLE CONTROL. Gun control obviously does not work. We do not try to convict GM or Ford for collisions - because people are at fault! We do not blame the knife for a stabbing. You cannot prosecute guns or high-capacity magazines. Courts do not do their jobs and those convicted of major crimes get out far before their time. Those bleeding heart liberals who do not want to convict criminals and throw them behind bars forever because it is cruel and unusual punishment are the first one to "convict' guns and high-capacity magazines. Any person using a gun during a crime should be prosecuted, convicted, and spend MAXIMUM time in prison (or death). The only way to gun control is through people control. Those willing to take away 2nd ammendment rights should be willing to give up their 1st ammendment rights. Liberalism is killing this country little by little. Nobody is willing to place blame where it belongs - on the shooter!

Please watch and share this video. WOW!!!

Wow, what am I missing. Keep the firearms away from law abiding citizens and let the scum keeping on shooting!!

Coop417 @ 1/14/2013 10:25 PM

There is no point in outlawing high capacity magazines. If someone is going to go out on a shooting spree, and want more ammo. All they are going to do is buy or bring more loaded magazines. They keep bring up the elementary shooting, and keep saying stuff about the assault rifle the kid had. The thing is if you read up on the incident, he rifle he had was left in the car. All victims were shot with a handgun. American's have a right to bear arms. The Constitution if you research it regarding bearing of arms states that we are allowed to have the same power of fire arms as the government to keep the government from over powering the people.
