VIDEO: Suspect in Killing of 2 Calif. Deputies Was in U.S. Illegally

The suspect in the slaying of two lawmen Friday in Northern California had twice been deported, but authorities said a motive is still unclear in the shooting rampage.

Authorities said 34-year-old Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamonte was the shooter. He was booked on charges of murder, attempted murder, and carjacking. Authorities said that his weapons included an AR-15-type assault rifle, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Monroy, who is in the country illegally, was deported to Mexico in 1997 after his arrest and conviction in Arizona for possession of narcotics for sale, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was arrested and sent back to Mexico a second time in 2001.

He was booked Saturday as Marcelo Marquez, the name that he gave police and that appeared on an identification card. But immigration officials said that was an alias.

His wife, Janelle Marquez Monroy, 38, was booked on attempted murder and carjacking charges. Authorities say she accompanied her husband for much of Friday's six-hour rampage.

Well we wont have to worry about deporting him again. He will be here forever in a box after the death penalty is invoked.

The families of the two deputies should sue Homeland Security and the Obama administration for wrongful death as they were responsible for having open borders that allowed this illegal thug to cross the border a number of times. This is criminal.

KT @ 10/27/2014 5:42 PM

You cannot sue the federal government, you can sue individuals though. Anyway, it reads "He was booked Saturday as Marcelo Marquez", I wonder was he booked but not verified? If he had been verified his previous criminal history AND his immigration history would have been revealed. There is no way to protect our borders with our current worries on being politically correct. Customs and Border Protection's (which includes Border Patrol) just had its 'Use of Force' policy revised and to some extent further restricted. As long as, we keep doing what the vocal minority wants these type of incidents will continue to happen.

My heart hangs heavy for those Officers and their families. What bothers me is that this POS, according to all the liberal gun controllers wasn't allowed to possess weapons of any kind, yet he had them. We all have the current clowns in charge to thank for all this crap!

Really? @ 10/27/2014 6:20 PM

Now you see why we need major Immigration reform? IF they are illegal, send them ALL BACK AND NEVER-EVER let them come back to the US to suck up our jobs and government funds!

Nightstalker @ 10/27/2014 8:24 PM

I Hate cop killers, its a matter of time before another 911 i hate to say happens as washington keeps letting everyone come to the good U. S.A. and why not get free stuff and steal and rob!!!!

TheRookie @ 10/27/2014 9:33 PM

This is BS. Heard today feds are looking at laws to see if they can take custody of this POS. They would most likely deport him yet once again. Just so the shat bag can come back & murder our Men/Women in Uniform. Hope Jerry "Moon-Beam" Brown & Democrat Assembly Members are happy with their making California a "SANCTUARY" State. The scab was there because he wasn't arrest when previously ran. His prior crimes weren't serious enough. This f__king POTUS & cop killing A.G. With-Holder are probably salivating at these fine Deputies deaths. I'm pizzed, sick, & tired of these azz hats.

TheRookie @ 10/27/2014 9:47 PM

May Deputies Danny Oliver & Michael Davis Jr. R.I.P. May the good lord bless their Direct & L.E. Families as well as all the friends made throughout a great life and career. May the citizens of their communities & all of California realize the sacrifices they & all California L.E. give to them daily.
Men/Women in Uniform & Plainclothes be safe out there. It is a battle zone.

Bill @ 10/30/2014 7:35 AM

This is what happens when the POS(I kinda mean the POTUS) refuses to 'faithfully execute the laws' of our republic. That man has blood on his hands.

krisnlc @ 11/3/2014 3:06 PM

This is a tragedy that might have been prevented. However to blame it only on this administration is short sighted. Republicans and democrats together are causing this...Each have a stake in the other opposite process.... Simply put the politics aside and protect our borders... no need for santuary states, amnesty processes... the system that existed previously with proper enforcement (the republicans looked the other way so they can pay low wages for crop work), should manage this problem for us. Now after 30 years of failing to enforce this part of immigration we have hundreds of thousands of kids that were born on our soil to illegals and the democrats have jumped on that to weaken our borders even more. If you belong here because you did it right..you can stay. if not go away...or haul them away. as far as the kids born illegally..well they belong to the illegal parents and should go back with them. Sorry so harsh but one guy like this moron has destroyed two families ....
