A slain Baldwin County (Ala.) Sheriff's deputy was remembered as a "wonderful person" who inspired fellow deputies to always improve at a Tuesday memorial attended by hundreds of well-wishers.
Deputy Scott Ward was shot and killed by an emotionally disturbed man on Friday while responding to a domestic disturbance call.
"He made you want to do better when on-duty because he was there," a fellow deputy said at his funeral service, reports the Press-Register.
