A cop killer who executed two undercover NYPD detectives has again been sentenced to death by a federal jury in a case that has drawn attention for the overturning of the first death sentence and his affair with a prison guard.

Ronell Wilson, a 31-year-old New York City street gang member, shot Detectives Rodney Andrews and James Nemorin execution-style in 2003. Nemorin begged for his life before he was killed.

Wilson's sentence Wednesday came six years after his original death sentence, which was overturned due to faulty jury instructions. Wilson later fathered a child with a federal corrections officer while at a Brooklyn facility. Nancy Gonzalez lost her job earlier this year and pleaded guilty to improper sex.

It took the jury about five hours Wednesday o reach its decision to give Wilson the death penalty, reports the New York Daily News.

He murdered the two men TEN YEARS AGO. It is ridiculous that the process takes so long. And now it will undoubtedly take decades more while the appeals and writs go along. Meanwhile, the cold-blooded killer gets lodging and 3 squares, and is even provided with sex by the prison system.

Don't forget the free health insurance, that as a retiree I can't afford.

Rudy Medina @ 7/25/2013 4:07 PM

This guy is using the system for all it's worth !! First he gets a stay of execution, because of a technicality , then gets a new trial, and meanwhile he empregnates a female prison guard ! He's killed two LEOs execution style, What more will the state of NY take, before this turd meets his maker???? So for now the state will feed, and board this killer, until he figures his next move !! It would behoove all those involved to end this guys adventure soon !!!! Apparently the do-good Liberal court system in NY needs some revamping !!!

Forusanow @ 7/25/2013 4:28 PM

Its time to execute him. He will never be a productive member of society.why do we care so much for a cop killer that his well being is more important than the two detectives and their families.Gonzales is a disgrace to law enforcement. She needs a long prison sentence but won't get it because she had a baby and is single. Let's find a good law-abiding family for the baby and give them both a shot.

imagine the low wattage brain power of the jailer who had a kid with this worthless loser? lost her integrity, career, and reputation for this monster. out of all the men to get pregnant by, this was the best she could do? moronic and thoughtless, but not unexpected at this point. a sad commentary.

tom @ 7/25/2013 4:30 PM

Where is Jessie and Al about this one? I'm sure they will say he is innocent, or a victum of the justice system, taken advantage of by the guard...blah blah blah....They need to throw the switch...

Jay @ 7/25/2013 4:44 PM

Why didn't Obama make comments about this horrific crime done to the individuals who risk their lives to protect people they don't even know. Obama had plenty to say about the Zimmerman case and he should be working to rid the country of low life scum gang members like but I'm sure he won't say or do anything for the officers or their families

Crispianranger @ 7/25/2013 6:31 PM

I thought New York didn't have the death penalty anymore. I hope he was sentanced somewhere he will hang!

vincenzino @ 7/25/2013 7:38 PM

Louisville Slugger to the forehead. Batter Up!!!

Retired NY Boss @ 7/25/2013 9:13 PM

NY does not have a death penalty. Ronell was turned over to the Feds for prosecution because they do. The Det who was killed was part of a Federal Task Force which gave the Feds jurisdiction. One of the best days of my career was they day I turned him over to the Feds.

crispianranger @ 7/26/2013 12:50 AM

Retired NY Boss,

Thank you.

The litany of horrors in this case continues.........the vicious double murder by this scumbag, the "prison guard" POS that she is, the overturning of the just verdict by some technicality, and almost as bad as the rest a kid who was conceived from this sludge of society. Let's just hope the kid gets put somewhere whe he/she can have some hope for a life away from these lowlifes.

Steve @ 7/26/2013 6:21 AM

Hey vincenzino,
Darned if I'd want to get my Louisville Slugger dirty with this puke's brains...they should hang this guy in front of the NYPD Headquarters so the "Blue" there can finally get some closure for their loss.
What I'm wondering now is how long it will take "society" to dispose of this jerk... another 15 years?

Mark A Weinberger @ 7/26/2013 7:08 AM

Reminds me of the execution style murder of Police Officer Danial J. FAULKNER in Philadelphia on 09 December 1981. There was and is irrefutable evidence that the killer, Wesley Cook, who later changed his name to Mumia Abu-Jamal is guilty, yet has never been executed. The scum has been supported by celebrities, and made untold sums of money via the killing of 25 year old Police Officer.
The so-called justice system of our Country has failed us when they permit prejudiced propaganda, from radical groups and ignorant people deny complete justice for victims, especially one so horrific as the cold blooded execution of a Police Officer. The fact that Officer FAULKNER's killer still breaths, and taxpayers support his existence, is a disgrace to this Nation and a travesty of our legal system.

@ Retired NY Boss: Thank you very much for that. Now let's hope the Federal Wheels turn faster than normal.
@ Steve: I'd say it would be worth it, and just replace the Louisville and not worry about how dirty it got!

S.S. @ 7/26/2013 2:53 PM

Just kill the f**ker already.

REGLaw @ 7/26/2013 3:23 PM

For what it is worth, his conviction wasn't overturned. The only issue in this trial was the death penalty, which had earlier been suspended because the judge gave improper directions to the jury. No reason for anyone to comment on it. The trial was essentially a technicality and he was sentenced again, this time with proper instructions. Justice done.

Bob @ VA @ 8/5/2013 4:30 PM

Pull the switch and get it over with.

Greg @ 8/6/2013 6:22 AM

Wasn't he in the Little Rascals.

The guard, Nancy Gonzales should share the needle with this guy.

OCSO60 @ 9/30/2013 7:16 AM

He's going to be a celebrity in prison for killing two cops. He won't have to do anything for the rest of his life. He'll have free medical, free education, all the drugs he wants, he's proven he can get the sex he wants. Maybe he might come up on execution before he dies of old age. I've got someone who's been sitting on death row for 20 years - AND ALL OF HIS APPEALS ARE EXHAUSTED INCLUDING THE US SPREMES! He's still sitting there
