The widow of a slain Jersey City Police
detective met up with the Vietnam War veteran who received her husband's heart in an organ transplant earlier this year, reports CBS News
Mari DiNardo was able to meet with Don Zolkiwsky, a Purple Heart recipient who received the heart of Marc DiNardo after his own was distroyed by a virus. DiNardo was fatally wounded while attempting to apprehend two robbery suspects at an apartment in July of 2009.
DiNardo was shot in the face by a shotgun blast. The 37-year-old father of three survived for about a week and was taken off life support. He was a 10-year veteran of the agency.
Mari DiNardi said meeting Zolkiwsky is "a miracle" because "a piece of [Marc] is living inside this man."

You both have been blessed, Maris' memories of her husband will live on in Don's heart. Thank God for miracles.
