An Ohio corrections lieutenant has died after he was shot Tuesday during a training exercise at the Corrections Training Academy in Pickaway County, near Columbus.
According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Lt. Rodney Osborne from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility was killed in the mid-morning incident on the tactical firing range, WLWT reports.
Officials said Osborne was a 13-year employee at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. Osborne was on SOCF's honor guard and was named employee of the year last week.
