West Virginia Recruit Says Instructors Beat Him Unconscious

Princeton (W. Va.) Police Officer and state academy recruit Christopher Winkler is accusing two instructors of beating him with batons during an incident that caused a blood clot on his brain and nearly killed him, the Charlston Gazette reports.
A major with the state police confirmed that Winkler, 23, was injured during training and taken to the hospital for treatment.
