Atlanta PD Recruits New Officers in Economically Downtrodden Ohio

To help fill 150 jobs with more seasoned officers, the Atlanta Police Department is heading to Ohio, an industrial state that's been hit hard by the economic downturn, reports.

Atlanta police say 1,000 officers have lost their jobs in that state.

The city's department began an active recuiting campaign earlier this week in Akron, a city that announced it would lay off 96 officers.
