An RV serves as the mobile memorial for Port Authority officers killed on Sept. 11, 2001. The first responders killed during the World Trade Center attack last year included the entire day shift of the New York and New Jersey Port Authority Police Department (PAPD).
Lt. Chester Weekes, PAPD, Ret., and other retired Port Authority officers are now crossing the country in Weekes' Monaco Coach diesel motorhome. At every stop they share a memorial display that honors their 37 fallen brother and sister police officers.
After the traveling exhibit ends its tour, the artifacts will go to the Smithsonian and the NYPA Museum.
The WTC Traveling Memorial's itinerary is posted on the Web at www.wtcpapdmemorial.com
