“With the strike, we lost 40 days of production. Now that the plant is running again, they have increased the production run rate to recoup as much lost production as possible. General Motors is recalling 49,927 2010- to 2014-model year Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit vehicles to address a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Chevrolet Tahoe Popular with K-9 Units

Because dogs are vulnerable to heat, the Tahoe PPV has more heating and cooling vents in the vehicle’s third-row area than any other police utility vehicle, according to Chevy. In the Tahoe PPV, the seat is eliminated to make room for the K-9 unit’s kennel. This allows the industry’s only third-row upper and lower air vents to circulate cooled air into the back of the vehicle.

What's New on the 2015 Tahoe PPV

The 2015 Tahoe PPV is Chevy's first pursuit-rated SUV to come with four-wheel drive. In addition, the exterior and interior have been redesigned, and the engine is now a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with standard direct injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously variable valve timing.

Chevy Tahoe PPV: Redesigned and Ready for Duty

Chevy's Tahoe patrol vehicle is fast and nimble, it corners well, and it has a good turning radius. It's also comfortable, offers a higher vantage point than a patrol sedan, and can carry a lot more gear than a car. So I couldn't wait to test and evalulate the new 2015 Tahoe PPV with four-wheel-drive.
