The federal government's 1033 program allows law enforcement agencies to acquire special vehicles such as an amphibious LAV, Humvee, MRAP, patrol boat, helicopter or even a landing craft for specialized missions. Georgia SWAT Team's Amphibious Vehicle
The Cobb County (Ga.) Sheriff's Office SWAT team takes out its Cadillac Gage Textron LAV-300 amphibious light-armored vehicle for a test run in this clip from 2008. The 6x6 vehicle includes tires that are radial tubeless and can be outfitted with run-flat inserts. The LAV-300 MK II can climb a 60 percent gradient, operate on a 30 percent side slope, and tackle two-foot-high obstacles.

California Auctions Surplus CHP Vehicles
Five high-mileage BMW motorcycles used by the CHP were auctioned for $2,200 each. The motorcycles were from the 2002, 2003 and 2004 model years and had odometer readings of more than 100,000.
