To that cowardly pack of gang thugs, it was the symbol for the rival Norteño gangs and the Nuestra Familia prison gang. To them, this is like wearing a Nazi uniform to the Auschwitz survivors' reunion.

Convictions Deal 'Serious Blow' To Latin Kings
Augustin Zambrano, 51, was identified as the "corona" of the Almighty Latin King Nation gang based in Chicago during the six-week trial. Zambrano was convicted on racketeering conspiracy (RICO) and other charges including narcotics trafficking and related violence.

Asian Boyz Founder Gets 8 Consecutive Life Sentences
Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry said the crimes of 37-year-old Marvin Mercado deserve "the greatest sentence this court can impose." Only two of his victims were rival gang members. The remainder were law-abiding citizens.

Robert Almonte, a U.S. Marshal in western Texas, is leading the event, which will cover how drug and human smugglers pervert Catholic saints and icons in their trade. The course seeks to educate officers about the images, icons, statues and other items seized during these investigations.

Calif. Jury Recommends Life for Asian Boyz Shot-Caller
The recommendation was announced Monday for Marvin Mercado, 37, who committed the crimes in the 1990s, yet eluded police for a decade by fleeing to the Philippines. Mercado and his crew committed the crimes "just for fun," an LAPD detective testified.
