2024 Mid-Year Duty Deaths Up 15% Over 2023, NLEOMF Says

NLEOMF’s data shows that 71 federal, state, county, municipal, tribal officers from the 50 states and U.S. Territories have died in the line-of-duty in the first half of 2024.

Twenty-five officers were shot and killed during the first six months of the year, compared to 33 during the same period in 2022, a 24% decrease year over year.
