A St. Louis Circuit Court jury has found in favor of TASER International in a product liability lawsuit filed by a man shot by an officer during a domestic call, the company announced.

Dejuan Anderson, 20, entered Fort Myers (Fla.) Police headquarters at 7:20 a.m. and asked for an officer by name. Anderson began swinging his edged weapon until an officer TASERed him.

The use of stun guns against two resistive subjects in Seattle and Maui was excessive, a federal appeals court ruled earlier this week. An 11-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued the rulings in the two cases from 2006 and 2004.
