The new Flex-Tac uniforms are made of a polyester/wool blend fabric, feature natural stretch and recovery, resist stains and odors, are fade resistant, and are machine washable.

Technology tends to be the emphasis of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference. True to form, many of the coolest products at this year's show, held Sep. 29–Oct. 3 in San Diego, focused on the now high-tech aspects of evidence collection. Multiple companies debuted new and improved takes on video, drug analysis, and biometrics. Plenty of new tablets were also on hand. Every International Association of Chiefs of Police show kind of has its own vibe. Last year's show in Denver was all about vehicles. This year's show was much more subdued but there was still plenty of cool stuff on the show floor.

The Patrol Duty Uniform (PDU) from 5.11 Tactical is designed to look good at both the beginning and the end of a duty shift. Teflon-treated for stain resistance, the PDU incorporates officer-friendly features such as mic cord pass throughs, bi-swing shoulders, permanent creases, and hidden pockets.

The PDU is machine washable and will withstand 50 washes with no fading and shrinking, according to 5.11. It's also waterproof and wrinkle resistant but comfortable and breathable.
