Easton Jordan—a 6-year-old boy in Buffalo, NY, who suffers from cerebral palsy—recently completed a "walk, run, and roll" fundraiser to benefit the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for Cerebral Palsy. He insisted on doing the walk under his own power, despite the fact that he typically uses a motorized wheelchair to get around when his disease wears him down.

A Buffalo Police officer who was paralyzed by a suspect's bullet during a 2006 shooting has succumbed to wounds that ended her law enforcement career. Officer Patricia "Patty" Parete, 48, died early Saturday at her home.
