German Police Set Up Fake Traffic Collision to Test Citizen Response

Police in Germany wanted to discover how many people would stop to help victims of a roadside crash, so they set up a fake accident scene complete with two victims made to appear to be badly injured.

According to English language German news website Deutsche Welle, Police in Oberhavel wanted to discover how many people would stop to help victims of a roadside crash, so they set up a fake accident scene complete with two victims made to appear to be badly injured.

“Seven hidden cameras were trained on the scene as police hid further up the road and pulled over cars that didn't stop to help,” the report said.

Police were “shocked” to observe that only ten percent of passing motorists stopped to lend assistance.
