2 San Antonio Officers Shot, Critically Wounded During Pedestrian Stop

San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus says two officers were shot during a patrol stop North of Downtown Thursday afternoon. Both officers are reportedly in very critical condition.

San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus says two officers were shot during a patrol stop North of Downtown Thursday afternoon. Both officers are reportedly in very critical condition.

The officers stopped two individuals around 3:25 p.m.

McManus said that both officers were getting out of their vehicle when they were immediately fired upon by one of the suspects. One officer was struck in the face/head area and the other in the upper torso.

The officers returned fire and struck the suspect. The other suspect was immediately taken into custody.

No motive was given for the shooting. The condition of the wounded suspect was not released, News4SanAntonio reports.
