Latin King's Gang Signs
A Latin King member identifying himself as "King Chucho" of Yonkers, New York, displays a series of gang hand signs referencing the gang's crown iconography and known as "stacking crowns." The Latin Kings are a People Nation, as opposed to Folk Nation, gang that identifies with a three- or five-point crown. Its members often wear black and gold/yellow colors.

There now seems to be a power struggle for the kingdom. The two major factions include the Kings Motherland Chapter whose members follow the Chicago ideology and the Bloodline Chapter, which is based in NYC and loyal to the founder of the N.Y. Latin Kings, Luis "King Blood" Felipe.

Latin Kings' Nationwide Leader Gets 60 Years in Prison
Augustin Zambrano, the highest ranking member of the Latin Kings, has received 60 years in federal prison for racketeering, narcotics trafficking, and other violent crimes. Zambrano, a "corona" of the Almighty Latin King Nation, was responsible for overseeing the illegal activities of all factions of the powerful street gang that counts about 10,000 members in Illinois.

Augustin Zambrano, 51, was identified as the "corona" of the Almighty Latin King Nation gang based in Chicago during the six-week trial. Zambrano was convicted on racketeering conspiracy (RICO) and other charges including narcotics trafficking and related violence.

Tattoos are an excellent tool for law enforcement and corrections officers to use to identify known or suspected gang members. This gallery includes examples of tattoos worn by predominanly Latino gangs such as the Mexican Mafia, MS-13, and the Latin Kings. The number "13" is used because M (or La Eme) is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet and is used to signify the Mexican Mafia, which uses Sureños—gangs that swear allegiance to the Mexican Mafia—to carry out its orders from prison.
