Felon Who Fired On CHP Officers Was Angry At Politicians

Officers in two CHP cruisers pulled over Byron Williams' white Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was weaving across multiple lanes of Interstate 580. Officers saw Williams pick up a handgun, yet were able to return fire and radio for backup.

A 45-year-old felon wearing body armor opened fire on California Highway Patrol officers who pulled him over early Sunday morning on an Oakland freeway, reports SF Gate.com.

Officers in two CHP cruisers pulled over Byron Williams' white Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was weaving across multiple lanes of Interstate 580. Officers saw Williams pick up a handgun, yet were able to return fire and radio for backup.

Williams, who also had a rifle and shotgun, was apparently upset by "the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items," his mother told SF Gate.com. He survived the officer rounds because of his ballistic vest.
