The suspect is wanted in Mississippi on an assault with a deadly weapon charge. Officers said the man was found to have been hit during the exchange of fire with officers and he has a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect is currently being treated for his injuries, and warrants have been obtained for 3 counts of Attempted Murder. Investigators said due to security issues the man’s name and photo will not be released until the formal booking.

Officials say a second officer suffered a minor injury—not from gunfire—during the incident.

Both officers were treated and released at a local hospital.
