Two years after Corporal Garrett Hull of the Fort Worth (TX) Police Department was killed in the line of duty while he and other members of the Criminal Intelligence Unit attempted to apprehend three armed robbery suspects, a candlelight vigil was held in his honor.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Mayor Betsy Price, Fort Worth Chief Ed Kraus and Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn were among those present at the ceremony.

Corporal Hull was participating in the apprehension of three subjects suspected of conducting a string of robberies in 2018.

Hull and other officers saw the suspects enter a bar and attempted to effect an arrest. The subjects fled on foot, and as officers gave pursuit, one gunman opened fire, fatally wounding Corporal Hull.

Hull had served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 17 years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
