Milwaukee Police Chief Demoted to Captain

The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission on Thursday demoted the city's police chief to the rank of captain.

The Milwaukee (WI) Fire and Police Commission on Thursday demoted that city's police chief to the rank of captain. The commission said the chief had mishandled a number of situations.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, some of the commissioners who made statements about the demotion before the vote was taken had sharp words for Morales, with some accusing him of repeatedly lying. The vote was unanimous.

Assistant Chief Chief Michael Brunson has been named interim chief.

For his part, Chief Morales has not ruled out suing the city to get his job back.
