Nevada Officers Help Mother and 4 Kids in Need

Officers with the Reno Police Department recently gathered donations to help a woman and her four young children in a tough situation.

According to NBC News, police had responded to a domestic disturbance call Thursday night after a woman's 10-year-old son called 911.

Officers arriving at the home and observed that there were no beds there. The woman explained they hadn't slept in a bed in more than a year.

The children—ages 10, six, four, and two years old—also had very little clothing.

The responding officers—Ashley Harms and Jared Woodward—decided to turn the call into something even more impactful for the family by gathering donations with the help their families as well as law enforcement officers from other nearby agencies.

They gathered clothing, diapers, mattresses, and other necessities, and on Sunday, they moved the items into the apartment. They also collected $2,400 cash for the mother.
