Man Arrested for Attempted Assault on Maui Police Officer

The suspect—identified only as a 64-year-old man—has been charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of criminal trespass and resisting an order to stop.

A man from KÄ«hei, HI, was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegations involving attempted assault against a police officer.

According to MauiNow.com, the suspect—identified only as a 64-year-old man—has been charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of criminal trespass and resisting an order to stop.

Police say the man allegedly contacted the Maui Police Department via telephone on multiple occasions “threatening to bomb the Kīhei Police Station.”

In the latest incident, the man reportedly drove his vehicle towards an officer. The officer was able to get out of the way and avoid being struck. 

No injuries were reported.
