Law enforcement officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were joined by civilian police supporters at a rally on Saturday in response to the growing "defund" movement across the country.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a crowd of about 100 officers and their supporters waved "Defend the Police" signs while another group held signs seeking funds now going to police to be redirected toward social services such as mental health treatment and homeless programs.

Some LAPD officers have said that Mayor Eric Garcetti and Chief Michel Moore have acquiesced to anti-police protesters who want to largely dismantle the department.
