Texas Officer Shot in Arm Following Vehicle and Foot Pursuit

An officer with the Watauga (TX) Police Department was shot in the arm by a suspect who led police on a vehicle chase, bailed out of the car and ran away, briefly eluding officers.

An officer with the Watauga (TX) Police Department was shot in the arm by a suspect who led police on a vehicle chase, bailed out of the car and ran away, briefly eluding officers, police say.

According to NBC News, officers set up a perimeter and began searching for the subject—whose name has not yet been released—and eventually located him.

The suspect then reportedly opened fire with a handgun, striking one officer in the arm, before again running away.

Multiple agencies then became involved in the search for the gunman, who was eventually located and arrested.

Charges against the suspect remain pending.

The officer who was struck by gunfire is expected to fully recover.
