A man has been arrested and is now behind bars after allegedly striking an officer with the Knoxville Police officer with his car.

According to WATE-TV, officers had responded to a disturbance on Sunday night. When they arrived, they found the suspect—identified as Isaac Allen—slumped over behind the wheel of a car that was still in gear and sitting in the middle of the road.

According to police records, Allen then attempted to hide a bag containing pills and a needle. He then reportedly drove his car into an officer, hitting him in the leg.

Court records show that Allen had premeditated an attack on a police officer with his vehicle, saying in a text message prior to the incident, "I'm going to run a cop over I think."

The injured officer—whose name has not been released—was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and later released.

Allen has now been charged with aggravated assault, DUI, and evading arrest.
