Attorney and Activist Arrested for Throwing Molotov Cocktail at an NYPD Squad Car

Two people—one a so-called human rights activist and another an attorney with a Manhattan law firm—were arrested over the weekend for throwing a Molotov Cocktail at a New York Police Department patrol vehicle, leaving it charred from the flames.

According to the New York Times, the squad car was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no officers were injured in the incident.

The two subjects under arrest for the attack are identified as 31-year-old Urooj Rahman—the human rights activist—and 32-year-old Colinford King Mattis, an attorney working for the firm of Pryor Cashman LLP.

Both have been charged with causing damage to a police vehicle by fire and explosives
