Two Virginia Officers Stabbed in Weekend Melee

Two officers with the Suffolk (VA) Police Department were among four people stabbed on Sunday night.

Two officers with the Suffolk (VA) Police Department were among four people stabbed on Sunday night.

According to the Virginia Pilot, officers with the Suffolk Police Department responded to serve an emergency custody order to a subject identified as 39-year-old Travis Dionne Butler.

Officers spoke to multiple people at the scene before coming into contact with Butler, who then reportedly pulled a knife and attacked the four victims.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue assessed and treated the victims

They were then transported a nearby local hospital with serious injuries. Two adults and one officer were treated and released, while one officer remains in the hospital.

Butler was taken into custody without further incident and charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of malicious injury on a police officer and four counts of felonious assault.

Butler is currently being held without bond.
