Connecticut Officer Stabbed During Arrest of Allegedly Intoxicated Man

An officer with the East Hartford (CT) Police Department who was reportedly stabbed in the leg while investigating a domestic complaint this weekend has been released from the hospital.

An officer with the East Hartford (CT) Police Department who was reportedly stabbed in the leg while investigating a domestic complaint this weekend has been released from the hospital.

Police say when they arrived at the scene on Saturday, the subject became combative, fighting with officers. During the ensuing struggle, police say the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed one of the officers in the leg.

According to WTNH-TV, the man—identified as 62-year-old Charles Zuhauskas—was charged with second-degree assault, six counts of interfering with a police officer, criminal attempt to commit second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree threatening, four counts of assault on a police officer, and cruelty toward a police K-9.
