British Man Jailed for Coughing on Police Officer, Claiming COVID-19 Illness

A man in England has been sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker after claiming that he was infected with Coronavirus and threatening to cough on a police officer who had responded to a call for service at that location.

According to BBC News, the man—identified as 55-year-old Adam Lewis—told the officer: "I am Covid and I am going to cough in your face and you will get it."

Lewis was sentenced by Westminster magistrates after being convicted of assaulting an emergency worker.
