Texas Woman Charged with Assault for Allegedly Kicking Police Officer

A woman in Texas is now facing assault charges after she allegedly kicked an officer who was attempting to arrest her on unrelated charges.

A woman in Texas is now facing assault charges after she allegedly kicked an officer who was attempting to arrest her on unrelated charges last week.

According to KXII-TV, the woman—identified as Carrie Thompson—had been involved in an apparent "road rage" incident and police were called to the scene.

Officers with the Sherman (TX) Police Department met up with the complainant in a parking lot. As officers were interviewing the complainant the alleged assailant drove by, and officers quickly stopped Thompson.

As they were in the process of placing Thompson under arrest for driving while intoxicated, she reportedly attacked at least one of the arresting officers.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Thompson was booked into jail on charges of driving while intoxicated and assaulting a police officer.
