A deputy with the Lyon County (NV) Sheriff's Office has been arrested on charges of illegally killing a buck without a hunting tag and aiding another man without a tag in killing bucks.

Sheriff Frank Hunewill said Deputy Allan Strand is on paid administrative leave pending a pre-trial proceeding in Tonopah Justice Court, according to the Reno Gazette Journal.

According to court documents, Strand faces several felony charges in the wake of the investigation into the killing of the mule deer.
