Alabama Deputy Critically Injured in Crash, K-9 Also Hurt

A Cullman County, AL, sheriff's deputy was rushed to the hospital after a crash early Tuesday morning. A K-9 was also injured in the wreck.

Authorities say dispatch lost contact with Deputy Adam Clark during heavy rain. Deputies located his crashed patrol vehicle on Highway 69 near Bremen, where they found the deputy unconscious inside.

The deputy was taken to a hospital in Huntsville, where he is in critical condition, the sheriff's office told WVTM.

Deputy Clark is a K-9 handler, and A Cullman County sheriff's K-9 was also injured and taken to a local veterinarian. The dog, named Figo, is in stable condition.
