Florida Trooper Shot and Killed on I-95, Stopped to Help Gunman

The FHP released a statement Wednesday afternoon that read, "On the morning of February 5, 2020, a FHP Trooper stopped and checked on a disabled vehicle when a subject shot and killed the Trooper, in Martin County, Florida.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and a motorist who appeared to be in a disabled vehicle are both dead following a double shooting on Interstate 95 in Martin County.

The FHP released a statement Wednesday afternoon that read, "On the morning of February 5, 2020, a FHP Trooper stopped and checked on a disabled vehicle when a subject shot and killed the Trooper, in Martin County, Florida. The subject then committed suicide on the scene,” the Sun Sentinel reports.

The FHP tweeted: "The entire Florida Highway Patrol and FLHSMV family mourns today for the loss of one of our own, FHP Trooper Joseph Bullock. Please keep his family and his team members in your prayers."
