Man Who Murdered Alaska Officer Sentenced to 119 Years in Prison

The man who was convicted of murdering an officer with the Fairbanks (AK) Police Department in a 2016 incident has been sentenced to more than a century in jail.

The man who was convicted of murdering an officer with the Fairbanks (AK) Police Department in a 2016 incident has been sentenced to more than a century in jail.

According to NBC News, Anthony Jenkins-Alexie has been sentenced to 119 years in prison for shooting and killing Fairbanks police officer Alan Brandt in October 2016.

Judge Michael McConahy issued the sentence during proceedings on Tuesday attended by many current and former members of law enforcement.

Brandt was expected to recover from wounds sustained in the attack in which Jenkins-Alexie shot and then beat him severely, but the officer eventually succumbed to his wounds.

Judge McConahy said in his ruling that Jenkins-Alexie had showed no remorse for his actions.
