A woman recently posted a brief video on social media showing an officer with the Gallatin (TN) Police Department helping a man in a wheelchair cross a busy four-lane street.

The video—posted to the Facebook Group "Hip Gallatin" by a resident named Kimberly Hardie—was accompanied by the caption, "Just witnessed this officer stop traffic, jump out of his car to push this man safely across the street. With all the stigma toward police officers these days, it was nice to capture a sweet moment!"

Other residents echoed Hardie's sentiments with comments of support for their police.

"I love our police department. Great bunch of guys & girls," one person said.

"We just have good police officers here in Gallatin. They care for the people they protect. I appreciate them so much," another resident said.
