An officer with the Brick Township (NJ) Police Department was injured and eight teens were arrested in a melee at an apartment complex Friday night.
According to the Asbury Park Press, responding officers found a group of teens engaged in a dispute and as they began their inquiry into what had happened to start the fight, more combatants joined the fight and began to shove the investigating officers.
As backup officers continued to arrive, one officer at the scene was struck. That officer—whose name has not been released—was treated by Brick Police EMS.
All the teens taken into custody ranged in age from 14 to 17 and are residents of the apartment complex.
