A Maryland man has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer and initiating a traffic stop last weekend.

According to WFMD Radio, the man—identified as Kareem Hart—had stopped a vehicle in a shopping center parking lot and told the driver that he would not write a $250 citation as long as the driver paid him $50 via a mobile phone money transfer app.

The driver agreed to pay the bribe, but immediately thereafter called police who located and arrested Hart later that evening.
