Kentucky Chief Deputy Suffers Fatal Heart Attack On Duty

A chief deputy with the Knott County (KY) Sheriff's Office suffered a fatal heart attack several hours after responding to assist at the scene of a barricaded subject.

A chief deputy with the Knott County (KY) Sheriff's Office suffered a fatal heart attack several hours after responding to assist at the scene of a barricaded subject.

According to WYMT-TV, 47-year-old Bobby Jacobs had worked at the Knott County Sheriff's Department in two stints, the first was when he was just getting his start in law enforcement and he returned to the agency in 2010.

Chief Deputy Jacobs had served in law enforcement for 23 years.

He is survived by his three daughters.
