Man Rams Car Into Kansas Officer's Patrol Car, Officer Opens Fire

A Kansas man faces charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with possibility of causing great bodily harm after he rammed his car into a patrol vehicle occupied by an officer from the Lenexa Police Department.

A Kansas man faces charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with possibility of causing great bodily harm after he rammed his car into a patrol vehicle occupied by an officer from the Lenexa Police Department.

According to KSHB-TV, the man—identified by authorities as 25-year-old Tevin White—reportedly rammed the officer's patrol car and also struck the officer, who opened fire on the fleeing vehicle.

The man was fleeing Lenexa police officers when he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, sparking another collision, police say.

White reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken into custody.

According to police, the Lenexa officer who was hit with the suspect’s car did not sustain serious injuries.
