California Agency Waives College Requirement for Veteran Recruits

The Sacramento Police Department has waived the requirement for a college degree for recruits who are veterans of the United States military.

According to CBS News, the new program—announced on Wednesday—is designed to help Sacramento police be more competitive recruiters of military veterans entering the workforce.

Sergeant Doug Morse said, "When you look at four years of military experience there’s a lot of education behind it, there’s a lot of the physical fitness that they have to do, the training and you’re going to see someone who has at least four years of life experience."
