Maureen Faulkner—the widow of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, who was murdered by Mumia Abu-Jamal during a traffic stop in 1981—says that Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner's office should be disqualified from overseeing any appeals of that case.

According to NBC News, Krasner has said he has uncovered potentially damaging evidence about the prosecution's trial witnesses from the original legal proceedings.

Because of a Supreme Court ruling last year, Abu-Jamal is eligible for another appeal of his murder conviction.

Faulkner wants Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro to take over the appeal.

Commenting on the ongoing saga of Abu-Jamal's repeated appeals, Maureen Faulkner said, "I'm in a mental prison."
