California Man Arrested After Exchanging Gunfire with Officer

A man who reportedly exchanged gunfire with an officer with the Lodi (CA) Police Department has been arrested after receiving treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.

A man who reportedly exchanged gunfire with an officer with the Lodi (CA) Police Department has been arrested after receiving treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the Sacramento Bee, police had responded to a shots fired call in the early morning hours on Tuesday and arriving officers came under fire.

The man—identified as 37-year-old Mario Kimo Aquino—was struck several times and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Aquino has been charged with attempted murder, assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, two counts of burglary, as well as multiple gun- and drug-related charges.

The officer involved was not injured.
