The chief inspector with the Philadelphia Police Department was arrested and charged with sexual assault on three female officers with the agency.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a grand jury recommended that the district attorney bring charges against Carl Holmes, finding that there was sufficient evidence that Holmes acted inappropriately with the women.

The 54-year-old chief inspector surrendered to police on Thursday morning.
