A corporal with the Belton (SC) Police Department is credited with saving the life of a 4-month-old baby girl on Sunday.

According to The State, Belton PD Sgt. Anthony Smith said Corporal Derrall Foster was the first officer to respond to the call of a baby who had stopped breathing and was unresponsive after swallowing some medicine.

Body camera footage shows Foster turning the baby over in his hand and patting her back in an effort to dislodge medicine that was stuck in her airway.

The baby was then transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and is expected to be OK, Smith said.
