5 People Stabbed at Florida Business, Suspect in Custody

Interim Tallahassee Police Chief Steve Outlaw said co-workers fought off the knife-wielding man with objects in the office.

An employee at the Tallahassee, FL, location of Dyke Industries, a building materials company, stabbed five co-workers with a folding knife Wednesday, local authorities report.

The suspect, identified by police as Antwann D. Brown, reportedly had a disagreement with another employee at the company shortly before the attack, the Tallahassee Democrat reports.

When officers arrived about 8:30 a.m., they found a number of stabbing victims and began treating them on the scene, said Officer Damon Miller, a spokesman for TPD. Five people were taken to a Tallahassee hospital and are expected to survive.

The suspect was arrested nearby. He was not injured.
